cans for comments!

It's here people--Cans For Comments starts today! Woo-hoo...I'm crazy excited!

To recap, and for those of you who didn't see my original post about the event, Cans For Comments is a blog fundraiser {set up by Amanda from Life, Experience Needed} to help support our local food banks and shelters during the holiday and winter season.

Nugget On A Budget

My Mission:
As one of the lovely co-hosts, my mission is to donate cans of food, toys, or clothing based on how many comments {on ANY post!} or new followers I receive during the event.
Cans For Comments will run from December 7-15.
{All comments/new follows MUST be within this time period to count toward my donations.}

What I'm Donating:
Every 5 comments = 1 can of food.
Every 20 comments = 1 toy or clothing item.
Every new follower {can be via GFC, Bloglovin', Twitter, Facebook, etc} = $1

* Please leave a comment to let me know how you are following so I can keep track. Each follow is worth $1...so if you follow both Bloglovin' and Twitter, that counts as $2 :) *

Where My Donations Are Going:
All cans of food will be donated to my local food bank and all toys will be donated to Toys For Tots or to my church's Angel Tree program. All money raised will be donated to my local animal shelter, Pets Alive. {Because animals need warm beds and food too!}

Check out what my lovely co-hosts are donating...
Amanda is donating 1 can for every comment & $1 for every new GFC follower
Dawn is donating 10 cents for every comment & $1 for every 5 new GFC followers
Liz is donating 1 can for every comment & $1 for every new GFC follower
Shary is donating 1 can for every 5 comments

Now...it's YOUR turn! We challenge all you fabulous bloggers out there to participate in Cans For Comments too, even if it's only for one day. You can set your own goal and donate whatever you'd like {cans, toys, money, etc. -- it all benefits your local community!}.

If you decide to join us, there's a linky that will be open during the entire week of the event {see below} so you are welcome to add your Cans For Comments post. Also, please grab our button and place within your post or somewhere on your blog so we can spread the word.

  3. I know our local food bank is low, so I'm sure they're low everywhere since we are one of the top places to recover since the recession. This is a great thing you are doing!

  5. I love this idea!!! I want to participate, but don't think I can because things are crazy at our house right now and Lee's health isn't back to 100%. I just finished Ornaments for Adoption. I'm a sucker for giving projects. I'll probably end up finding a way to squeeze it in anyway. :)

  7. This is really nice and thoughtful and I admire your efforts. We are creating hampers in our school, as well as collecting presents for orphanages.
